There are all kinds of websites out there selling you designer clothes at discount prices, but this one’s invitation only. Which makes it all the more desirable instantly, right?
Gilt Groupe offers “men’s, women’s, and children’s coveted fashion” at 70% off retail. Each “flash” sale lasts 36 hours only, and the goods go fast. During the hour after its weekday sales kick off, between noon and 1 p.m., the company claims, its site is visited by an average of roughly 100,000 shoppers. The company has more than 2 million members, ¾ of whom are female.
Now I know you’re getting anxious, but don’t worry. This is one exclusive club that won’t cost you anything to join. All you have to do is be invited by one of those 2 million members—o if no one will share, you can request membership through customer service on the site.
Once you’re in, it’s first come, first serve, a virtual mad dash for the racks. Good luck!
