Deals. How to find them? You can be like granny, with a scissors and a magnifying glass, leafing through the weekly specials…or you can be internet savvy and type in “deals” to the old search engine followed by what kind of deals you’re looking for.
I’ve been called frugal, parsimonious, and hell, even cheap once or twice, which I resent deeply, because I care only about not wasting money. I love spending it when it comes time to, but for the most part, if I can save a few bucks, I will. Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to shopping. Sometimes it’s just more practical to wait until the holiday sale to buy that big screen TV or that new shirt you’ve been wanting. Other times, it depends on really searching around for the lowest price on what you want.
Airline tickets, for example. Few people know that airlines have trouble filling up flights that leave and return on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Thus, to fly on these days usually reduces ticket prices by about twenty to thirty dollars, and sometimes even more. Reading blogs and articles can help you discover certain tidbits like this to be more thrifty when you’re going to shop.
Twitter has become a great tool to track news, keep in touch with friends and now, find great shopping deals!
A great way to find a great deal on Twitter is to use comparison shopping. Tinymassive is a Twitter bot allowing you to compare product prices while on Twitter. Just tweet your product search to @tinymassive and the bot will get back to you with the search results generated by the site itself. In turn, the Tweet will contain the Twitter name, the search results count, the minimum price found, and a link to the search results.
Another great way to save via Twitter, is to follow your favorite money savings site. My personal favorite coupon aggregator, Cheap Stingy Bargains, posts coupons and by following I can easily keep track of the latest deals. To make this even easier, you can use a desktop application like Seesmic and you can sort the people you follow into groups, and put all the money saving friends into one group, for easy access.
You can also use Twitter based search-tools like Cheap Tweet, which posts all tweeted prices in a Digg like interface and allows tweeters to upvote deals by clicking “It’s cheap”. It also allows you to easily share the deal with your fellow deal hunters.

No matter what anyone says, one of the most difficult things to do is find deals. That’s why women around the world try to figure out how the “coupon mom” was able to get a basket of groceries for $20.00 using coupons, how that neighbor went on vacation to Italy for $1,000, or how a friend always has the latest gadget and still didn’t pay what you paid for your older one.
Finding deals is no joke, which is why we’ve created Deal Spice, “The Deal Blog”. Deal Spice aims to bring you the latest online deals weekly. And not just any deals, discount products you would not have found on your own. No more going from site to site looking for these hidden deals, printable coupons, or coupon codes.
